Gilded Faults

Senior BFA Collection

Gilded Faults began with my fascination with kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken objects with gold. Rather than concealing damage, it celebrates it. I was drawn to the idea that things become more meaningful over time.

That philosophy became the foundation of the collection. Each garment was developed through draping, hand manipulation, reconstructed textiles, and minimal-waste pattern cutting. Lace offcuts that would have otherwise been discarded were patchworked together by hand then accented with gold leaf, transforming overlooked fragments into something precious.

I wanted to explore what luxury can look like when garments are designed to endure; pieces that are worn, cared for, and become more meaningful over time. Inspired by natural erosion and fractured landscapes, Gilded Faults celebrates craftsmanship, longevity, and the beauty of transformation.
